Lion in Queen Elizabeth National Park

This is a 6 days Uganda Game Viewing Safari starting and ending in Kampala. This safari takes you to Uganda's Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. Located in the western part of Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National park is designated as an IUCN biosphere reserves.

On this Safari you will explore the diverse eco system of savannah plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps and volcanic craters that are found within this park. Queen Elizabeth Park is also home to a staggering variety of wildlife. In addition there are huge numbers of migratory birds in the area all with the stunning Rwenzori Mountains as a back drop. From Queen Elizabeth you will visit Lake Bunyonyi. Found in Kabale District, southwestern Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi is reputed to be one of the deepest in Africa. There are no fish in the lake but it does contain a large population of freshwater crayfish. The surrounding hills are the home of the Bakiga people who are cultivators by tradition.

Travelling back to Kampala, discover Lake Mburo National Park. Being the closest savannah reserve to Kampala, Lake Mburo National Park is the most accessible park i Uganda. Centred on a series of swamp-fringed lakes known for their rich birdlife, notably the secretive African finfoot, Lake Mburo is one of the most popular safari destinations for bird watching in Uganda. The green acacia woodland surrounding the lake also harbours dense populations of zebra, warthog, buffalo, impala and various other grazers, including the last surviving Ugandan population of eland, the largest of African antelope.
