This is a 6 days Uganda Game Viewing Safari starting and ending in Kampala. This safari takes you to Uganda's Queen Elizabeth National Park and Lake Mburo National Park. Located in the western part of Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National park is designated as an IUCN biosphere reserves.
On this Safari you will explore the diverse eco system of savannah plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps and volcanic craters that are found within this park. Queen Elizabeth Park is also home to a staggering variety of wildlife. In addition there are huge numbers of migratory birds in the area all with the stunning Rwenzori Mountains as a back drop. From Queen Elizabeth you will visit Lake Bunyonyi. Found in Kabale District, southwestern Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi is reputed to be one of the deepest in Africa. There are no fish in the lake but it does contain a large population of freshwater crayfish. The surrounding hills are the home of the Bakiga people who are cultivators by tradition.
Travelling back to Kampala, discover Lake Mburo National Park. Being the closest savannah reserve to Kampala, Lake Mburo National Park is the most accessible park i Uganda. Centred on a series of swamp-fringed lakes known for their rich birdlife, notably the secretive African finfoot, Lake Mburo is one of the most popular safari destinations for bird watching in Uganda. The green acacia woodland surrounding the lake also harbours dense populations of zebra, warthog, buffalo, impala and various other grazers, including the last surviving Ugandan population of eland, the largest of African antelope.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Our safari guide will pick you from your hotel and start off for Queen Elizabeth National park located in the western part of the country. Have a brief stop over at the Equator for some photos. After passing into the Western Rift Valley we descend an escarpment with wonderful scenic views of Lakes George and Edward amidst the game filled plains of the National Park. Keeping an eye as we drive to lodge, you may see different wild game which includes elephants, big herds of buffaloes, Uganda kobs as well as many other antelopes. Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park
An early game drive through the park to catch up with the early risers as well as predators returning to their hideouts. This is the best time of the day for game watching in the World’s biosphere reserve! There are great opportunities to spot lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, Ugandan Kobs, waterbucks to name but a few. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon we take a launch trip down the Kazinga Channel, home to possibly the highest concentration of hippos in all of Africa in order to spot the various animals as they come to drink at the water’s edge. Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Another early start as we again head out game viewing through the Park. On the drive, we head south towards the Ishasha area of the park, where you may see the famous tree climbing lions lounging on fig trees as they wait for their prey. Have a picnic lunch in the wilderness of the rest camps in the southern area of the park before we embark on a game drive that will take us back to Mweya peninsular. Visit the Katwe salt works to see the traditional methods used by the local people to mine salt fro this salty lake. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Lodge/ Jacana Safari Lodge
Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi
After game driving through the park, check out of the lodge and drive to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi located in the “Little Switzerland of Africa”. From this cold area you will see the terraced lands of Kabale. There are also opportunities for swimming, sunbathing and bird watching. Take a canoe paddle around some of the islands in this stunning area before having lunch at the camp. Exploration of the islands in the lake and relaxation at the lodge. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Mburo National Park
Early start to Lake Mburo National Park, driving through twisted and winding roads and lake dotted countryside, before reaching the lower thorn and savannah scrub lands of Lake Mburo National Park. From the park you will see different wildlife which includes zebras, buffaloes, Ugandan Kobs and plenty of other species abound in this beautiful park. After lunch take an evening game drive through the park. Dinner and Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp
Day 6: Lake Mburo National Park & Return to Kampala
Early game drive through this acacia dominated park before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Take a guided nature walk to the salt lick where you can see about 4 different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. Take a boat trip on Lake Mburo and later have lunch. After lunch, drive to Kampala arriving late in the evening.
